Building Resilience Counseling & Wellness was founded in 2021 by Asha, offering in person and telehealth services in South Carolina. In 2025 the team expanded to include Ajita, offering fully telehealth services in NC, SC, and MA.
Combined, Ajita and Asha have over 30 years of experience in the social work practice, covering a variety of settings.
I am experienced and enjoy working with LGBTQ+, kink, alternative relationship styles, and am sex positive in my approach. My foundational belief of resilience stems from personal experience. I was a medically complex child and have continued to navigate the health care system, chronic pain, and illness as a professional adult. I've experienced struggles life can throw your way, grief, and loss. Trauma can be the result of many things, and is layered. Often, we may not even realize how a life event has manifested itself as traumatic in our lives; the ability to grow, learn, and become stronger through the healing process exists with the appropriate support system and tools.
Whether through meditation, words, or movement, I am ready to help you move you through “this” into the next phase of your life. Most of my social work career was in the case management area, so problem-solving treatment, motivational interviewing, setting and knocking down goals is a favorite approach of mine.
I’m also a certified, trained yoga and meditation instructor, and reiki master, so I also am able to incorporate eastern philosophy into our work together. Whatever the approach, we are in this together.
“This” could be depression, anxiety, transitions, loss, life. Let me help guide you to find your strengths, embrace your innate resiliency, and reach your best you. With the combination of various healing processes, we will work together with respect and compassion to develop the tools to get you to where you want to be.
